IS YOUR FAITH IN THE EUCHARIST THIS STRONG?

How St John Maximovitch ate Communion that had been given to a Person with the highly Contagious Disease Rabies (This is to teach us that Holy Communion can never be a cause of infection to others of the corona virus. Rather in the history of the church, many miracles of healing are associated with Holy Communion and many holy people – even some living today – see miraculous heavenly sights upon the altar and visions that are associated with the holy body of Christ)

Vladyka’s (an endearing Russian term for bishop) constant attention to self-mortification had its root in the fear of God, which he possessed in the tradition of the ancient Church and of Holy Russia. The following incident, told by 0. Skopichenko and confirmed by many from Shanghai, well illustrates his daring, unshakable faith in Christ. “Mrs. Menshikova was bitten by a mad dog.
The injections against rabies she either refused to take or took carelessly… And then she came down with this terrible disease. Bishop John found out about it and came to the dying woman. He gave her Holy Communion, but just then she began having one of the fits of this disease; she began to foam at the mouth, and at the same time she spit out the Holy Gifts which she had just received.
The Holy Sacrament cannot be thrown out. So, Vladyka picked up and put in his mouth the Holy Gifts vomited by the sick woman. Those who were with him exclaimed: `Vladyka, what are you doing! Rabies is terribly contagious!’ But Vladyka peacefully answered: `Nothing will happen; these are the Holy Gifts.’ And indeed nothing did happen.”

Дорогие прихожане!

Ввиду объявления чрезвычайного положения в нашей провинции, доводим до Вашего сведения важные перемены в нашей церковной жизни.

1)  Все службы совершаются по расписанию. Причастие на каждой литургии.

2)  По закону чрезвычайного положения в Онтарио в храме может находиться 50 человек богомольцев.  Мы вынуждены ограничивать число богомольцев в храме, иначе за нарушение этого правила штраф больше, чем $100,000 и год тюрьмы.  Член Церковного Совета будет следить за посещения богомольцев.  Мы очень сожалеем что не все войдут на богослужение в воскресенье и надеемся на ваше понимание. Мы благодарим Господа что имеем возможность совершать Божественную Литургию и причащать наших верующих в среду, субботу и воскресенье, когда многие православные приходы закрылись согласно указу своего архиерея.

3)  Желательно, чтобы прихожане приходили бы или в среду на Преждеосвященную Литургию или в субботу утром или в воскресенье. Если собираетесь прийти, тогда готовьтесь к причастью, чтоб Господь нас сохранил от вируса. Причастье будет как наша Спасительная Церковь придерживалась и придерживается веками!

4) Кухня нашего сестричество закрыта.

5)  Дата соборования остается на 15-го апреля 2020г., а Общего Годовое Собрания будут перенесена.

6)  Мы должны стараться быть максимально законопослушными в этой очень серьезной ситуации.

7)  У свечного ящика лежит подписной лист на каждую службу.  Просим всех прихожан подписать. Снова, не более 50 человек.  Если вы решите покинуть храм, вычеркните ваше имя и дайте возможность другому.

Dear Parishioners!

Due to the unprecedented situation in Ontario, we are bringing the following information to your attention.

1. All services will be served according to the schedule. Communion will be administered at all Liturgies.
   
   
2. Due to the new directives of the Governor, we are forced to abide by the new law and limit the amount of people in Religious gatherings to 50. If the mandate is not observed a $100,00.00 fine and a year imprisonment will be enforced.  Council members will be enforcing the amount of people. We sincerely regret that not everyone will be able to enter. We thank the Lord that we have the ability to continue to serve Liturgies, where other parishes have been ordered by their Ruling Bishops not to.
   
   
3. We encourage regular parishioners to come to one or two of the weekly liturgies, allowing the others who cannot, to attend on a Sunday.  Communion will be administered at every Liturgy! Holy Communion will be administered according to the practice of the Orthodox Church for centuries. If you intend to come to church, prepare to receive communion, so that the Lord God will protect us from this virus!
   
   
4. The sisterhood kitchen will be closed, until further notice!
   
   
5. The date for Holy Unction will remain on April 15th, 2020. The General Annual Parish Meeting is post-poned until further notice.
   
   
6. We must adhere to new regulations set forth by the authorities in Ontario.
   
   
7. At the candle stand is a sign in sheet for every service. This sign in sheet is to ensure that we abide by the new regulation and maintain the amount of people to 50. If you elect to leave the services, please erase your name and allow someone else to have the opportunity to be at the service. We believe that you will understand and abide by this instruction.

С тяжёлым сердцем, я должен сообщить что отошёл ко Господу дорогой друг и брат во Христе, Протодиакон Александр Кареев (Среда, 4 Марта 2020).

Я приношу глубокие соболезнования его жене Celine, его детям Andrew, Natasha и их семьям, его друзьям и всем в Храме Покрова Пресвятой Богородицы.
Мы чтим его память, как он преданно служил Господу и Его Православной Церкви с любовью Христа в его сердце. Он оставил множество воспоминаний в сердцах всех, кто удостоился знать его.

May the Lord our God Who in His “inexpressible wisdom created man out of the earth, giving him form and adorning him with beauty,” assign the soul of His departed servant, Proto-deacon Alexander, “to the company of the righteous,” letting him be forgiven, both, “in the present and in the age to come.”
In the midst of our sorrow, we must try to remember, that though his life on this earth has ended, we know that life does not end with death but begins new with eternity, because our Lord promised us, “…I am the Resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me… shall never die.” (John 11: 25-26)
